Let us tell you that in this matter an agreement has been reached between IBA and United Forum of Bank Employees. Speaking to The Times of India on this matter, S Nagarajan, General Secretary of All India Bank Officers Association, said that if the five-day working rule is to be implemented in banks, then for this the government will issue a notification under section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. The working hours of the rest of the day will be increased
S Nagarajan further said that if the government accepts the demand for Saturday holiday, then the bank employees will have to work more for the remaining five days a week. In such a situation, bank employees will have to work from 9.45 am to 5.30 am from Monday to Saturday. In such a situation, there will be an increase of 40 minutes in the work every day. Please tell that currently banks work on the first and third Saturdays. In such a situation, many times the customers have a lot of confusion regarding the bank holidays in between. Let us tell you that bank unions have been demanding 5 working days for a long time. This demand had caught hold since the government has implemented the rule of 5 working days in the Life Insurance Corporation of India.
Banks will remain closed for 12 days in March
New month has started from yesterday. Banks will remain closed for a total of 12 days in this month. It also includes Saturday and Sunday holidays.
