Asia Cup 2023 Team KL Rahul selected in Team India, Kris Srikkanth criticizes selectors

KL Rahul Asia Cup 2023 Team India: India has declared the team for Asia Cup 2023. Indian selectors have also given place to KL Rahul in Team India. Rahul stayed away from cricket for a long time due to injury. But now he is practicing in the nets. Rahul has worked hard in the National Cricket Academy. But former Indian cricketer Srikkanth is not happy with this decision of BCCI. Srikkanth says that if a player is not fully fit on the day of selection, then he should not be included in the team.

According to a news from India Today, Srikkanth said, “You are playing Asia Cup, which is the premier tournament. We could not reach the finals of the last two editions. There is nothing fixed about the World Cup team either. They (Team India’s selectors) have become confused. You need a selection policy. I do not want to take any kind of credit, I am just saying that we also did the same (selection policy).

Srikanth mentioned an old story. He said, “There was a problem with us even during the Test matches. Test match against South Africa. VVS Laxman said that he will be fit and play. That’s why they should be kept in the team. But he was not fit on the day of the match. Then we thought of taking Rohit Sharma in the team. But got injured while playing football. After that we gave Wriddhiman Saha a chance to debut. The selection panel was not desperate that day. If a player is not fit on the day of selection, then he should not be included in the team.
