Amazon Plans 5 Billion Dollar exports from India based sellers Than China To US And Britain in 2024

Amazon Update: There is good news for Indian exporters. Global e-commerce company Amazon Inc will help Indian export companies sell small-ticket items worth $5 billion in the United States and Britain through its platform. Under Amazon's Global Selling Programme, around 1.50 lakh small exporters of India will be able to sell their products directly to foreign customers through Amazon's e-commerce platform. Amazon started the Global Selling Programme in the year 2015.

China is going to be the biggest blow from this decision of Amazon because earlier most of the small-ticket items were being sourced from China. But amid India's growing dominance in the global supply chain, big multinational companies are now trying to get out of China. According to Reuters, Amazon's Global Trade Director Bhupen Wakankar, who came to attend the exporters' meeting in New Delhi, said, we are investing in such tools and technologies that help sellers increase their reach, increase sales with product discovery.

The company said in its statement, Amazon is on its way to help thousands of Indian businessmen to increase e-commerce exports to $ 13 billion by the end of 2024. Bhupen Wakankar said, Amazon has partnered with India's Commerce Ministry and trade associations to connect small manufacturing companies across the country that offer products ranging from textiles to jewelry, household items and Ayurveda products. It is easy to send such items directly to customers abroad and are not affected by import taxes.

Walmart also said in 2020 that by 2027 it would increase its supply from India to $10 billion, which was $3 billion then. Amazon and Walmart's Flipkart have transformed India's retail business in recent years and have invested billions of dollars in sourcing supplies from small businesses and have tried to woo consumers by offering huge discounts.
