Airtel Hikes Mobile Tariff: Bharti Airtel has decided to increase the mobile tariff. The company has announced to increase its minimum monthly prepaid recharge plan in seven circles. Now on recharging this tariff plan of the company, customers will have to pay Rs 155 instead of Rs 99.
In this old Rs 99 recharge plan of Airtel, users get limited talk-time which is deducted after every call according to the duration of the call. The validity of this plan is 28 days. But under the new recharge plan of Rs 155, users will get the facility of unlimited calling. In this validity period of 28 days, one GB internet data and 300 SMS facility will also be available. The company first rolled out the Rs 155 plan after discontinuing the Rs 99 minimum monthly prepaid recharge plan in Haryana and Odisha in November last year. Now the company is rolling out this plan in seven other circles.
According to an Airtel spokesperson, in view of our focus to provide better customer experience, we have decided to discontinue metered tariffs and have come up with a new entry level plan of Rs 155, in which the customer will get 1 GB data with unlimited calling and 300 SMS. Will get facility. Customers will be able to use this plan without any restrictions. We believe that this plan is more flexible, convenient and more valuable.
After making Airtel’s prepaid mobile tariff expensive, the customers who were till now recharging the plan by paying Rs 99 will have to spend about 57 percent more. This decision of the company will help in increasing the average revenue per user (ARPU). Many brokerage reports believe that Bharti Airtel can rollout this recharge plan across the country in the coming days. According to him, by September 2022, Airtel had a total of 32.98 crore mobile customers, of which 10.9 crore are 2G customers, out of which 3.34 crore customers use the minimum monthly prepaid recharge plan. ICICI Securities had said in its brokerage note that Bharti Airtel wants to see the response of the people by launching Haryana and Odisha.
