Air India: Air India CEO Campbell Wilson has announced on Monday that due to crew shortage, flights on some US routes will be temporarily reduced. The CEO said the airline will reduce some flights to San Francisco and Newark airports for the next three months. Air India’s employee strength is around 11,000, including flying and non-flying employees.

He said that the airline has taken significant steps to improve the passenger experience, “a lot is happening.” The Air India CEO also said that the airline is planning to use GPT4. GPT4 AI Chatbot is the latest enhanced version of ChatGPT. Last week, Air India offered Voluntary Retirement Scheme (VRS) to its employees.
This was the second such offer since the airline was acquired by the Tata Group in January 2022 and will be applicable till April 30. Sources have told that it will be for non-flying staff. Air India has brought Voluntary Retirement Scheme for its non-flying staff. After the acquisition of the airlines in January 2022, the Tata group has brought the offer of VRS for the second time.
Air India has ordered 470 aircraft
Recently, Air India announced a mega order to buy 470 aircraft from Boeing and Airbus to support its growth plans. It has also announced plans to lease 36 aircraft of which two B777-200LRs have already joined the fleet. After 69 years as a government-owned enterprise, Air India and Air India Express were welcomed back into the Tata Group in January 2022.
