Adani Group Owned Airport: If you catch a flight from Lucknow, now you will have to spend more money, because the airport of Adani Group has proposed an increase in User Development Fee (UDF). According to a report in Times of India, Lucknow International Airport (LIAL) has proposed to increase the charge for some services.
After the approval of the proposal, these charges will be applicable from 1 April 2023 and these increased fees will be applicable till 1 April 2025. It has been said in the report that Adani Group will raise funds to develop the airport by increasing these charges. These increases in aeronautical charges such as parking, landing fees and other charges can be applicable from April 1.
Plan to increase how much charge
According to TOI report, Adani Group has proposed to increase the UDF per domestic flight from Rs 192 to Rs 1025 excluding taxes. The airport operator has planned to increase the fee for international flights from Rs 561 to Rs 2,756 excluding taxes by April 1, 2025. The Lucknow airport has also proposed a tariff hike for domestic and international cargo handling services.
The increase may be less than the offer
Adani Group has proposed the new tariff to the Airport Economy Regulatory Authority (AERA). After this, the regulator will come out with the final tariff order, which can usually see rates lower than those proposed by airport operators.
From whom will this charge be taken
User Development Fee is to be paid directly by the passengers, while Aero Tariff is collected from the airlines. At the same time, the air ticket fare of the airlines also depends on the operating cost. Due to this, this decision may increase the fare for Lucknow flight. During 2019, the central government had decided to privatize six airports and in 2020, Lucknow was given on lease for 50 years to Adani Group.
