7th Pay Commission: The season of festivals has started. In the coming days, the festivals of Ganesh Chaturthi to Navratri, Diwali, Dhanteras are going to come. And in view of the upcoming festivals, the central government is going to open the treasury for its lakhs of employees and pensioners. After the special session of Parliament in the last week of September, the Modi government may announce an increase in the dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners. In the last week of September, there is a possibility that the cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi may take a decision to increase the dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners.
Dearness allowance may increase by 3 percent
Central employees and pensioners have been waiting for an increase in dearness allowance since the month of July. It is expected that the central government can increase the dearness allowance by 3 percent from 42 percent to 45 percent. The decision to increase dearness allowance will be implemented from July 1. And the salary for the month of October will be given along with the increase in dearness allowance. Arrears from July to September can also be received along with the salary for October. According to statistics, this decision of the central government will benefit 47 lakh employees and 68 lakh pensioners.
Gift before Navratri!
The holy festival of Navratri is starting from 15th October and Dussehra is on 24th October. Therefore, there is every hope that the dearness allowance of central employees and pensioners can be increased this month. Every year the government increases the dearness allowance twice. The increase in dearness allowance in the first phase is applicable from January and in the second phase from the month of July. Changes are made in DA and DR on the basis of retail inflation data. In August 2023, the retail inflation rate for the month of July has been announced, in which the inflation rate has reached 7.44 percent above the tolerance level of RBI. At the same time, the food inflation rate has been 11.51 percent. In such a situation, the central employees are hopeful that the government will give them relief from inflation.
It was believed that the dearness allowance would be increased by 3 percent. Dearness Allowance is calculated on the basis of the Consumer Price Index for Industrial Workers, which is issued by the Labor Bureau every month. Central employees are hoping to increase the dearness allowance by 4 per cent, but there is a high possibility that 3 per cent dearness allowance can be increased.
